Elise Parsley studied drawing and creative writing at Minnesota State University Moorhead. During college, Elise also volunteered over 1800 hours promoting literacy through an AmeriCorps academic enrichment program. Now she promotes literacy through writing and illustrating children’s books.

Elise is also in a full-blown research stage for all future book content called "motherhood." With five actual little children living on site, it is truly an immersive experience. they demand to read a minimum of four picture books each day, request drawings of heavy equipment, volcanoes, and horsies, and regale her with both fiction and non-fiction stories while she refills their little water bottles.
